"For as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these…."
We asked churches to let us know of ways they are serving their communities.  Here are some of their stories.

Lakeview
Our church recently had a great opportunity to minister to our community by providing childcare for 60 neighborhood kids for 5 hours one evening while their parents attending a PTA fundraiser.  We are thankful for the ways God is providing opportunities like these to build ties with our community.

Seattle First
Our Jr and Sr High youth recently distributed empty grocery bags around our neighborhoods for food collection and the next week they picked up around 50 bags of food to be given to local food banks.  We also provide a weekly worship service at a local nursing home.  This ministry is coordinated and conducted by lay people in our church.

Lakeside
We hosted a Harvest Carnival for the community.  Fun for all ages included sumo wrestling and bouncy boxing for the teens, Toddler Town for the younger kids, a Harvest Café, and much more.  Over 1,000 people attended, making this one of the most highly attended outreach events at Lakeside.

Our youth pastor took our Jr High Sunday School girls and their teacher to Manfisher in Omak.  There they served Thanksgiving dinner to 75 persons who were in need.  Also, on Thanksgiving day, we opened our church and served a compete Thanksgiving dinner to anyone in our community that wanted to attend.  We went to the local food bank and invited those in line to come and enjoy a hot meal.

Wenatchee
This fall we joined with other area churches to provide a free Thanksgiving dinner to those who normally would not have one.  Dinner was served to 750 people and an additional 100 meals were delivered.  In all, over 730 people volunteered for this effort and many more contributed financially to make this ministry outreach possible.
