Ministerial Leadership Development

Ministerial Preparation

Geoff Smith, PNWC Assistant Superintendent, oversees the Ministerial Credentialing process.  He is available to help with any questions and information you may need in this area.  You can reach him at the PNWC office at (206) 281-5003 or at Geoff@pnwc.org

Diaconate Ministry

“Deacons are members in good standing the FMC.  They are persons whose spiritual gifts have been confirmed by their local churches.  In response to God’s call on their lives, deacons offer servant-leadership in particular areas of the local church complementing the work of elders and leading the membership to carry out its ministries to one another and the world.”

Local Ministerial Candidate

“A local ministerial candidate is a member of the FMC who is seriously considering a call to Christian ministry as an ordained elder. “

Conference Ministerial Candidate

“A conference ministerial candidate is a member of the FMC who has completed the LMC process and has been received by an annual conference in preparation for ordained ministry.” (2011 Book of Discipline ¶5340)
