Praise the LORD! Thank you all for praying with us and for us. We could feel His presence throughout the day and know that He was also close with Mike.

The surgery went 10 hours, as expected; we were thankful for frequent updates from the OR staff, letting us know the progress. Anna and I were able to rest some and get fresh air during the long day of waiting. Dr. Futran met with us at the end of the day and said everything went according to plan and there were no concerning moments.

When we got to the ICU Tuesday morning Mike had already opened his eyes and was able to nod at us and do some finger spelling. Early morning Praise! They were able to pull the breathing tube out shortly after and he tolerated it like a champion. He was writing us notes, showing expression on his face and even cracked jokes. The flood of doctors that came through over the next couple hours had nothing but good things to say about his progress and healing. Awesome! We have been so delighted to watch his color come back and share laughs.

Mike worked with physical therapists yesterday morning and got out of bed to a chair for a while. Then in the afternoon he was moved from the ICU to the surgical floor where he will be for the remainder of his stay.

We are so thankful at every moment for the Lord’s faithfulness to us and are confident that we will continue to see His miracles every step of this journey. Please continue with us in Praising and Praying!

Updated prayer points:

-       continued decrease of swelling
-       pain control for rest and healing
-       continued sense of peace, despite uncomfortable/unfamiliar environment
-       For the staff caring for Mike, to sense the peace and joy surrounding  him.

The PNW Conference will host a “Missional Community Information Luncheon“

on Thursday June 28th from 12-2pm

What is a missional community? It is an intentional group of people growing in their relationship with God and with each other as well as opening their eyes to living missionally and incarnationally in the community around them.

 Who is this for? Anyone intrested in living missionally and leading others to live missionally in your specific context.

 Why attend? To learn more about the PNWC’s interest in missional communities, and be part of the group launching this part of our ministry efforts.

Gwen Houser, retired missionary, passed away Saturday April 28, in Stanwood, WA. Gwen and her husband Tillman arrived in Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe, in May 1948. Their 34-year ministry focused on education, evangelism and finance. Gwen and Tillman retired in 1981

Mildred Seymour, (widow of PNWC Elder Ezra Seymour), passed away on May 2nd. She was 102 years old.

Space for God Retreat is an opportunity to step away from the demands of ministry and into an environment where you can be with and hear from God in a deeper way. If you have been finding that sensing the nearness of God is sometimes difficult in the busyness of life, then treat your soul to two days of just being with Him. Consider it Jesus’ invitation to you to “come away by yourself with me and get some rest”.
