Frequently Asked Q: Where is Antioch House? A: Antioch House is located approximately 15 minutes South of Downtown in Seattle's Rainier Valley. This area is considered to be one of the most ethnically diverse on the West Coast. Two vibrant Free Methodist Churches are nearby. Rainier Avenue FMC is only blocks away, while Word of Hope FMC in White Center (Burien) is easily accessible via the Antioch House van. Q: How can I apply to live in Antioch House? A: You can find all the information you will need to apply at our Application Information Page. Q: Is Antioch House really totally free? A: Yes. The only expenses students pay for is cable TV, and this is a completely optional expense. There is $200 security deposit which will be returned when you leave the Antioch house, provided your room is in the same condition as you found it. Q: Do I have to be a Free Methodist in order to live in the House. A: No, you do not have to have grown up in the Free Methodist Church or be a current member of the Free Methodist Church to live at Antioch House. However, we exist to develop leaders for the Free Methodist Church. Also, the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church funds Antioch House. As an Antioch House member, you will be required to attend a local Free Methodist Church that is involved in urban or cross-cultural ministries. Also, you will be warmly invited to discover the benefits of membership in a church like ours, and to fall in love with it. Q: What are the joys & responsibilities of living in Antioch House? A: For a full answer see this document: Welcoming Word from Arlene Weigand. Q: Can I have pets in the Antioch House? A: Yes and No. You may have any pet that fits into a bowl or aquarium. Other animals such as dogs and cats are not allowed. Q: Who can live in the house? A: You are welcome to apply if you are a student interested and involved in global or urban/cross cultural ministries. Q: How many people can live in the Antioch House? A: As many as 8 students and as many as 10 people total. The men and women floors contain two single bedrooms, and one double. And the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) has two bedrooms available.
